My Priorities

Student Achievement & Academic Excellence

I am running for re-election because I believe every student deserves the opportunity to receive an excellent education and develop the skills they need to succeed in school, in their careers, and in life.

As a school board member, I will continue to focus on the district’s strategic plan, academic performance, and preparing for the continued growth of our community. My decisions will always be guided by what is best for our students and staff while also being mindful of responsible budgeting and the impact of our decisions on taxpayers.

I want every student—including my own children—to graduate from Papillion La Vista Community Schools with a strong academic foundation, the confidence to pursue their goals, and the life skills necessary to be successful beyond the classroom.

Recruiting & Retaining Great Educators

Our schools are only as strong as the people who work in them. Recruiting and retaining highly qualified educators and staff is critical to the continued success of our district.

We must remain competitive when it comes to salaries and benefits while also providing meaningful opportunities for professional growth, the technology and resources educators need, and positive learning environments where staff feel valued and supported.

My professional experience in finance, forecasting, planning, and analysis gives me a unique perspective that I can bring to the board. I will use that experience to work collaboratively with the superintendent and district leadership to plan for our staffing needs today while preparing for the growth and challenges ahead.

Preparing for Growth

Papillion La Vista is a growing community, and our school district must plan ahead. Growth impacts everything from classroom space and staffing to transportation, technology, and district resources.

I believe we need thoughtful, long-term planning that anticipates our future needs rather than simply reacting to them. As a board member, I will continue to ask the difficult questions, evaluate the data, and make decisions that balance the needs of our growing district with responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.

Supporting the Arts

As a proud Monarch Marching Band alumnus, I know firsthand the value of arts education.

The arts give students opportunities to discover their passions, develop creativity, build confidence, and learn skills such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. These experiences complement the academic experience and can have a lasting impact on students long after they graduate.

I will continue to support opportunities for students to participate in music, theater, visual arts, and other programs that help them discover their strengths and interests.

The Role of a School Board Member

I believe the role of a Board of Education member is to listen, ask questions, examine the facts, and collaborate with students, parents, educators, administrators, and community members to establish clear policies that reflect the values and direction of Papillion La Vista Community Schools.

The board also has an important fiduciary responsibility to our community. We must be good stewards of taxpayer dollars while making the investments necessary to provide our students and staff with the resources they need.

My approach is simple: put students first, support our educators, plan for the future, and be responsible stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

I believe in creating an inclusive learning environment where students are active participants in their education and where teachers have the tools, resources, and support necessary to help every student succeed. Our responsibility is not only to prepare students for their next grade level or graduation, but to prepare them to be successful, contributing members of our community throughout their lives.
